University of Michigan's Zell Lurie Institute for Entrepreneurial Studies to Host 'Entrepalooza 2005: Define Your Path' Symposiu

ANN ARBOR, Mich., Sept. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- The Samuel Zell & Robert H. Lurie Institute for Entrepreneurial Studies, the world's leading university- based center for entrepreneurial studies, and the University of Michigan's student-led Entrepreneur and Venture Club will host the "Entrepalooza 2005: Define Your Path" annual symposium on Sept. 23, 2005. The event, held at the University of Michigan's Ross School of Business, is open to the public, and registration is free.

What: Entrepalooza 2005, Michigan's premier entrepreneurship symposium, will provide students, venture capitalists, and business executives with an outstanding opportunity to network with peers from across the U.S. while learning about the various facets of entrepreneurship.

When: Friday, Sept. 23, 2005, 7:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Where: University of Michigan Ross School of Business, Assembly Hall 701 Tappan Street, Ann Arbor, MI Featured Speakers: Keynote addresses by: * Bharat Desai, co-founder, president and CEO of Syntel Inc.

Mr. Desai will focus on the challenges he faced in growing Syntel from a Troy, Michigan-based IT staffing company in 1980 to a successful global IT solutions firm today with over 4,700 employees. At the symposium, Mr. Desai will also be presented with the Alumni Entrepreneur of the Year Award.

* Dan Gilbert, chairman and founder of Quicken Loans Inc.

Mr. Gilbert will focus on his rise to success through the founding of Quicken Loans and the challenges he faced in leading the company's growth to become the nation's largest online retail home lender.

Panel

Discussions: Panelists include a broad range of executives from entrepreneurial companies across the U.S. specializing in technology, life sciences and venture capital, as well as University of Michigan Ross School of Business faculty members and alumni. Topics covered will include:
